Sketchfest #22, a Ciwi, and an Interview!

Hello Blogger world :)
Okay, so I have been bad with posting. Ever since I started my Dragon Lore painting a week ago I have never gotten to a point where taking a photo seemed like a good idea as the dragon is the last thing to paint lol.
So Ive been quiet and hamstering things to talk about..

First off! The grand and brilliant Cat, from Catswire Jewelry, was awesome enough to include me in her Monday Interviews!! She has featured me today on her blog with a few questions and pictures and gosh well I am so over the moon :P Heres a link to the full interview: http://catswire.blogspot.com/2012/01/interview-with-artist-christina-of.html
It is the best way my year couldve started, Thank you so so much Cat! *huge hugs*

Second - and perhaps third, my friend Johanna (a.k.a Ciwi) came down from Stockholm for a bit of a visit! You may remember Ciwi from such episodes as Pheasant Girl, of which she modelled for, and other art trades and craziness we get up to.

She came just in time for Sketchfest this weekend and brought her markers and pens along with her! Which translated directly into hours of us sitting at my coffee table gabbing away watching fat people work out, twilight, and gold diggers and generally enjoying ourselves :P
Heres the results:
sketch one started with me drawing an eye...then her drawing an eye...then a face off between how bad we were at profiles and then...theres alex. the unicorn alligator hybrid.
sketch page 2 was oh okay ill do some line art, and you color it! can you tell whos done what? :P
then sketchfest began at 10 pm our time in sweden! starting with for me  - "Rainbow Hair"
then i did one of my own prompts "Bamboo Mistress" which is one of my creepy favorites of the event
the next day after some sleep :P i did a just woken up sketch of "Clover Mermaid" trying out some color pencils for a change

then Ciwi picked the prompt "My Gothic Valentine" for me and  yes I spent most of the hour working on her hair. Just addictive!
That concluded Sketchfest for me as my last sketch was horrible and I ran out of time to finish it :P
But before she left on Saturday night we manage our last collaboration:
the bat wing girl. I started off drawing half a face, then ciwi drew some hair, then i made a non nondescript body LOL and some roses and she finished off by drawing some wings and leaves!

We both took turns coloring it in but let it be known that that skin is all her skill with promarkers!
It was a super fun weekend of art over here - It was great seeing everyones sketches, I cant believe the skill some people have its mind blowing.
See you at the next Sketchfest! If youre interested in joining please check it out here! - http://www.ellenmilliongraphics.com/sketchfest/

And Ill get back to everyone about that Dragon Lore painting sometime this week I am sure :P *must make deadline!!*

Sketchfest #20!

Okay so I only did 2 small sketches this month as I got really inspired to do my canvas painting but i thought id share them with you here ^^
prompt was "The Roaring Twenties", and lol shes no going crazy doing the charleston , but this simple sketch was a great precursor to the painting i started after it.
the prompt for this one was "Elf Hunter", and it looks too much like a blood elf from wow but oh well:P it was good fun just doing some pen work and feeling like it helped inspired me into art again

thanks sketchfest! i really do look forward to decembers and all the christmas prompts that will surely be going on ! :D hehe

Sketchfest #17!

Yay for sketchfest! it is now officially over here - and as i promised myself i would do - I was alot more primed and ready! Incredible feat considering this was the first weekend all 3 kids were together for the first time in several months!
I came up with a few fun prompts which Ill share with you here, including a link to see what they inspired!:
Alot of great sketches made! Alot of fun to see the creativity people put into their drawings :D
These were the skecthes I made myself, with the prompt that inspired them:
Digital Sketch, Prompt: "Fairy Riding a Bumblebee"

Digital Sketch, Prompt: "Geisha Dream"

Pencil Sketch, Prompt: "Giant Falls in Love with a Fairy"

Pencil Sketch, Prompt: "Little Red Riding Hood"

Pencil Sketch, Prompt: "Gothic Baby Doll"

Digital Sketch, Prompt: " Elf Flying On the Back of a Crow, Beside a Witch On Her Broomstick"
I had a really great time, and am happy to say I got to include a few friends this time! My friend Ciwi (aka Johanna) joined in with me last night and did a few sketches, and my sister Alex joined in this evening for the last hour to give it a go!
Hopefully more Sketchfest regulars for next month!

Sketfest begins, and a painting is complete

Happy Saturday to you - one filled with sore itchy allergy eyes, a myriad of art materials, and well. kids screaming.
Yesterday I finished the last Mountain Girl Chibi...yes all 5 are now done and proudly lounging on my bookshelf in all their bright glory. I only took a few casual shots today, which Ill happily show you here ^^

Also!! Sketchfest began last night at about 10 pm my time (oye!) For those of you who have no clue as to what I am talking about basically Sketchfest happens once every month where a bunch of people all over the world sit around and sketch for 24 hours :P You use prompt words given by the sketchers to inspire youre own work and you have a max limit of an hour to do one sketch.
(that may be confusing, for more information check out their main page! Sketchfest Here!)

Its not over until tonight at 10 pm but we have the kids this weekend so getting sketches in can be a bit difficult.
I dont have a scanner so I took a photo of one of my favorites I did. The prompt was Delivering a Love Letter and I tested out my little babydoll chibi style ^^
no body sees me right...?
So thats that! Tonight, hopefully get some more sketches in after the kids are put to bed...maybe even some digital ones for fun. And next week finishing all the left over stuff I have been putting off! Have a nice weekend!
